Steff Jones Returns for 24/25; Joined by Cardiff Teammate Teg Phillips
The Club is excited to announce that wicket-keeper bat Steff Jones (pictured below left) will return to Hampton for another season as one of two confirmed overseas players for the season. Steff will be looking to back up a fantastic debut season at Hampton which saw him amass over 450 runs for our 1st XI and achieve selection in the CSB Championship Division Team of the Year.
He will be joined by his Cardiff teammate Tegid Phillips (pictured below right), a 22 yo off-spinner and lower middle order bat who has also spent some time at Glamorgan. Teg has recently completed his studies in Civil Engineering back home in Wales. He will provide depth to our batting line-up and strengthen our spin bowling ranks at the same time. He is by all reports, an excellent fielder too.
Both Steff and Teg will be heavily involved with the Junior Club throughout the season. Steff takes on the role of Academy Coach coordinating the pre-season Academy and will also be at Junior training during the week throughout the year. Teg will also be involved in coaching, likely as an Assistant Coach for one of our U16 sides.
The Club is very excited to have both Steff and Teg on board for season 2024/25 and call on all members to make them feel very welcome!
